2 Nephi 26:11‏

(A/N: Hey there everyone! Alejandra here wishing you all a happy memorial day! I hope you had a great day and were able to take time to remember those who not only gave their lives for us and our country, but also those who were near and dear to our hearts that have since passed on. Here is the email sent from Hermana Ramos-Escobar for the week, enjoy!)

So this week was great! A couple of highlights!

Wednesday we had Trainer Trainee! We got called the night before to give a training! That was fun! For doing it last minute, I think we did okay! After Trainer Trainee, I had the great privilege to work with Sister Roemmich again! She was travel training and she decided to spend her last day with us! We were able to talk a lot and work together again! It was a lot of fun! We had some good laughs! We also went to this really sketchy taco place that a member took us too! Haha, we had fun there! Don't worry we're all safe! The food was really good too!

Thursday we had exchanges! I was with Sister Reina from Houston, Texas! She's the best! She's from Honduras! It was really nice to be able to work with her. I learned a lot from that exchange! A lot of things that I can do to keep growing! Exchanges truly are the best if you let them be!

Saturday was a lot of fun! The Young Women were having a fundraiser to go to camp! They had a big yard sale! We were there trying to help them sell! I feel that I did pretty well! I made sure to compliment the things that people would pick up! Haha! Remember like a month ago when I talked about the best tacos ever!? Ya we had them again!! They were soo good!

Sunday was great too! Sunday is always a day with a lot of running around! Sister Hunt and I had the great privilege of teaching the Sun Beam class! Haha, they were cute!! We were talking about obeying God's commandments and I asked a little boy:
"Richie will you obey God's commandments?"
"*Sigh* No... I just want to talk!!!"
Haha! Needless to say, he was talking almost the whole class time! It was a lot of fun!

Today I was reading in my Book of Mormon. President has asked us to read it again, looking for Christ-like attributes. So today, I was in 2 Nephi chapter 26, and verse 11 really stood out to me.

"For the Spirit of the Lord will not always strive with man. And when the Spirit ceaseth to strive with man then cometh speedy destruction, and this grieveth my soul."
I testify that this verse is so true! When we start to lose the spirit...we really will have a speedy destruction. The spirit is the one thing that truly will keep us safe...but if we start to do little things to drive the spirit away...little by little Satan will get us. I've noticed it a lot as a missionary. I have been able to really learn to recognize the spirit. I know now how to keep the spirit with me at all times. I know that without the spirit, I would be totally lost. I am so thankful I have the Holy Ghost with me as my constant companion. There is nothing else I would rather have!
I love the gospel so much! I know this work is so important and that this church is so true! I have grown so much and I hope to keep growing as I go! I love this work! I love my mission! I love you all!

Love,
Hermana Ramos-Escobar

With Sister Roemmich! Not the best picture...but oh well!!

We went and got frozen yogurt today! Sister Hunt hit her 2 months mark! Yay!

Celebrating my one year mark I guess...

The Road So Far...

(A/N: Hello everyone! I know it's the middle of the week, but today marks Hermana Ramos-Escobar's one year mark! A year ago today, she started her journey as a missionary for the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She's obviously grown so much since she's entered the MTC and she still has so much more to grow and learn from these last six months. I'm going to share with you guys a little snippet from our email conversation this last week and then fill the rest of this post with photos from the beginning of her mission to now. Enjoy! :)

P.S. To anyone who caught the Supernatural reference...you are now my new favorite person. ;) )

ME: Love you lots Gabby! Hope you are doing well and taking care of yourself! Remember that you can't control other people's actions or decisions. It's not on you. You can guide them and counsel them, but you can't force them to do anything. Don't push yourself too hard. Take time to pause and reflect. :)

GABBY: Aly there's no time to pause and reflect!! I only have 6 months left!! Just kidding...No I do reflect a lot...I really appreciate how you asked me in what ways I've changed...I really am a different person but yet down deep inside I'm still me. I know I'm still going to be a brat to you! I'm still going to be myself...but I'm going to have such a strong testimony of Jesus Christ and this Gospel! I Love it!

It Was All A Blur!‏

(A/N: Hello everyone! It's Alejandra here wishing everyone a happy Monday! Seems like Hermana Ramos-Escobar had a mini case of amnesia this last week...just kidding! She is doing well and is happy with what she is doing. Enjoy her short little message!)

This week was kind of a blur...I don't really remember what happened!

We got a couple of new investigators! That was exciting since we had been struggling to find new investigators for the past weeks.

Hopefully I'll write more next week!
Love you all!

Love,
Hermana Ramos-Escobar

Our Echo meeting! All the Echo missionaries!

Happy Mother's Day

(A/N: Hello everyone! Alejandra here! I hope everyone had a great Mother's day yesterday! :D  We had an awesome opportunity to talk to Hermana Ramos-Escobar yesterday. She is doing really well out on the mission. She met her new trainee last week, her name is Sister Hunt. She didn't send a big email this week, but she did send some photos. Hope you like them! )

Sister Simonsen and I before we went into the temple before getting our new companion!

This is Sister Hunt!! Me, Sister Hunt and Sister Simonsen! ...And Elder Andersen photo bombing us in the back! We can't take pictures without the Elders sneaking in!

At our Mother's Day activity!! We had fun! I love them all so much!

Making Memories

(A/N: Hello everyone! Feliz Cinco de Mayo! I hope everyone has a great week this week just like Hermana Ramos-Escobar did this last week! Enjoy the email update!)

This week was just AMAZING!! There's so much that was just amazing and I really simply just don't have enough time to write it all, so I'm going to go through pictures and write a little bit about them all.

We had our last district meeting with this amazing district, on Wednesday! Elder Patterson, our district leader, is going home! and Elder Feltner is leaving to Hanford!

They are crazy, but it's fun!

On Saturday, we were waiting for transfer calls. I don't know what it is about transfers but everything is just so nerve racking! At about 4 in the afternoon, we received a call from President. President doesn't call on the day of Transfer Calls unless he's calling you to a leadership position...President asked Sister Simonsen and I to train! We will be co-training a new sister! What are the odds! We have one Sister coming into the mission and the Lord wants us to train her! I'm so excited! But here's the thing...we totally thought that the Sister that was coming in was an English sister...so we started getting really nervous that they would double us out of our area (We both leave and a new companionship comes in).

As you can see...we were a little nervous. This is Saturday night.. waiting for the call. I was really nervous! Ahh!!  But all is well! We are staying in Echo! Quite honestly I was a little bit surprised. I have been here in Echo for 7 1/2 months! Well it's a good thing that I love Echo! :) Ha ha!

THEY GOT BAPTIZED!!! Sunday was soo great! We got to see Georgia, Sebastian and Monse enter the waters of Baptism! It was such a special service! Jesus received the Priesthood yesterday at church and got to baptize his family that same evening! I'm truly thankful that the Lord had prepared them so well! This is why I came on my mission! I have seen this family grow so much. We have seen the change in them. They look so much happier! I know that this gospel truly blesses families. Heavenly Father sends us to earth in families so that we can feel a little bit of His love. "God gave us families to help us become what He wants us to be, this is how He shares His love for the family is of God." I know that is so true.

All their family friends. A lot are members...a couple are not! Families are truly the best thing that Heavenly Father has given us!
I'm glad I get to talk to mine this weekend! I love you all!

Love,
Hermana Ramos-Escobar
