Miracle!!

(A/N: Hello everyone! I hope everyone had a wonderful weekend and a great Monday! Here we have another fun update from Hermana Ramos-Escobar out in the mission field! Enjoy!)

This week was such a great week!

We had a miracle yesterday at church!

We were sitting in Relief Society and one of the members cracked the door open and asked us to step out. We stepped out and we saw that a woman was standing behind him. This member had the impression to go call one of his patients from work to see how they were doing. While he was waiting for them to answer he heard, "Hey! Hey! Can I ask you some questions?" This women was walking along and felt the need to ask our member some things about our church. He handed her over to us and she stated how she just felt "a profound feeling" to go talk to our member. We explained that that was the spirit and talked to her a little bit about how to know which church is the right church (that was one of the questions she had). She mentioned that she was a Witness but feels betrayed from them and wants God in her life again. We will be meeting with her tomorrow to help her find God in her life again and help her to recognize which church is the right church. It was such a great miracle!

Sister Corbridge and I have been working really hard to try to find new investigators and to actually meet with our investigators that we do have. This week was a great week. We got to meet with our 3 investigators that are progressing pretty well! We taught 2/3 of them the word of wisdom and they both accepted to live it! One of them even gave us their coffee! I asked him if we could take it and he let us take! That was crazy! We didn't know what to do with it...so obviously we threw it away!

The Lord is so aware of everything that we need! He is aware of our true intentions and desires! I know that He loves us and is watching over us!

Thank you for all that you do!

Love,
Hermana Ramos-Escobar

Welcome to Lemoore!

(A/N: Hello everyone! Alejandra here with another update from Hermana Ramos-Escobar in her new area! Enjoy!)

I am now in Lemoore!! Lemoore is super cute! It's this little town that reminds me a lot of Los Banos! Ha ha, it's great! I'm really excited to be here! I'm working in an English ward...I forgot what it's like to serve in an English ward. It's not just getting used to a new area but getting used to a different culture again. I haven't had rice in beans since I've been here so that's fun! Ha ha!

The water here is disgusting!! When I was my hands, I can never tell if I actually got all the soap off...the water is slimy! Same thing when I wash my hair...I can never tell if I really got everything or not...The toilet water looks gross too...it looks green! Ha, it's great! It'll take some getting used to but it's fine!

My new companion is Sister Corbridge. I didn't really know who she was, but then an elder in Fresno told me she was from Pleasant Grove, Utah. Then all the sudden the name started ringing a bell. She totally went to Oak Canyon! I remember that she was friends with Kelly! So it's been really fun being with her! We have remembered teachers from Jr. High and just really getting to know each other! So that's been great! I know that we'll work together.

Being here in Lemoore is also a little different because they have a Navy Base here. So a lot of the ward members move in and out.

We have a handful of investigators right now...I haven't quite met them all...I think I've only met about 3 or 4 but we have an appointment with one tonight, so we'll see how that goes! I'm really excited to work in this area! I know that I will learn a lot from it! I'll learn a lot from Sister Corbridge too.

Let's see...I can't really remember all that we did this week! Tuesday, we went to the Farewell ( I was still in Fresno). There were soo many missionaries leaving! I think about 27 missionaries left, so the farewell was packed! I got to see Elder Davis...Dakota now...and Elder Kulbeth...Sam...They both served here in Merced while I was there, so that was fun to see them! We got home at about 10:20 that night because we had to move some Sister's luggage that was going home. When we got home after, I still had to pack...that was rough! The next day we woke up and I went off to Handford! Ever since...things have kind of been a blur! It's been a lot of unpacking! But I'm pretty much done!

I know that this church is true. I know that we truly are doing the Lord's work. Christ will come soon and He needs His children to be ready. We need to help others find the happiness that they are looking for. I know that the Book of Mormon is true. I know that God really truly does love us. There really is no other thing I would rather be doing. I wake up every morning feeling like I didn't get enough sleep but I remember that I am serving because I love the Lord Jesus Christ. He is my motivation. I want to return to live with Him and I want all those that I love to return to live with Him too. I know this church is true. This gospel is the only thing that brings us true happiness.

Hermana Ramos-Escobar

We were painting a room at our ward mission leaders'
house and I decided to dip my head into the paint...
That was great!! Ha ha!!

I'm Leaving Echo...

(A/N: Hello everyone, it's Alejandra here! Happy Monday! Here's a little update from Hermana Ramos-Escobar on her mission and it looks like they just got their transfer calls. Enjoy!)

Well...I guess 9 months was enough time for me in Echo! Transfer calls were on Saturday and I will be moving down to the Handford Zone! I was a little shocked, not going to lie...I didn't think I was going down south! But I am really excited! I'm excited to experiment something new! To get to know more people! To see how things are different there! I have loved every minute being here in the Echo ward, I have learned so much and have grown to love everyone so much! Saying bye has been the hardest thing...I feel that my heart breaks a little each time...But Heavenly Father really is helping me. I feel comforted and it just feels right.

I had the chance to share my testimony the past two Sundays. The first Sunday was fast and testimony meeting and this past Sunday because I am leaving...I started thinking about just how simple a testimony is but yet how much you have to work for it. While being in Echo, I was able to grow a really close relationship with one the Young Women. She was struggling to find her testimony. We would visit her at least every week and help her understand scriptures and answer any questions she had...she reminded me a lot about myself...The difference is that I didn't recognize I was struggling to find my testimony, but she did.

I haven't always had a testimony of the church, of the gospel of the Book of Mormon...but I did want to believe it.

I worked hard for my testimony. I went through rough times trying to figure out if it really was true and I was able to see that it really is true. I know with all my heart that this gospel is true. That the Book of Mormon is true, but I didn't always know. Each person on this earth can know for themselves if this gospel is true. It will take work and time and a lot of faith but it is possible. This Young Woman that we helped went up with me last Sunday to share her testimony. Words can't explain how happy I felt!

I have never experienced soo much joy!! I love this gospel with all my heart. I can't imagine what it will be like when we return to live with Heavenly Father. I know this church is true and I say it in the name of Jesus Christ. Amen.

Love,
Hermana Ramos-Escobar
