I Loved This Week!‏

(A/N: Hello everyone! It's Alejandra here hoping you all had a happy Monday! Here is the weekly update from Hermana Ramos-Escobar! Enjoy! And to those of you starting finals, good luck! To those of you who finished up finals...ya'll are lucky dogs... ;) )

So this week was a week full of events!

Oooh!! Let me start with this! Last week we FINALLY got my bike fixed (it had a popped tire)! We have been getting cut down on miles, so we decide to save like one mile and ride our bike to the stake center! I felt like such a missionary! So that was one highlight of my week!

We have been going over to Jesus' family! I love them so much! They are so ready to be baptized this weekend! The little one, Bella, is such a doll! She is so fun to be around! She's so spunky! I love it! On Wednesday when we went over, she practically showered Sister Simonsen in Britney Spears lotion, and then on Friday she got it all over me! She throws all our pass a long cards and then makes sure we help her pick them all up! But hey! We do whatever we can to keep her quiet during the lesson! We always end up with one of us entertaining her and the other one doing the lesson on her own! It's what you do when you have to teach a family with little kids!

Saturday was a really great day! We started off by doing service at Fresno State! Yay Bulldogs! We were blessed on Saturday...We got LOTS of rain! So while we were painting the bathroom doors in the stadium, we were freezing with all the water and wind! But it was lots of fun!

Saturday was also very amazing because I saw "Jennifer." My lovely trainer Sister McArthur texted us saying that her name was Jennifer and that she wanted to go on splits with us. Her bishop had given her our number. I knew that she was here in the mission for a sealing, but I didn't want to get my hopes up! We were parked at the stake center waiting for "Jennifer," when we saw a truck pull out and, sure enough, there she was! Needless to say I was really excited! She came with us to visit Chella, one of our investigators and it was such a great lesson! I had missed teaching with her! We had such a powerful lesson with Chella also! It truly was great!

This church is so true. I know it without a doubt. There is nothing that I would rather be doing than serving my Savior and my Redeemer. I love Him so much and I truly know that He has atoned for our sins so that we can be happy for all eternity. I love Him and I will serve Him!

Love you all!

Such An AMAZING Week!‏

(A/N: Hey everyone, it's Alejandra here! I hope everyone had a great Monday! Here's an update from Hermana Ramos-Escobar in the mission field!)

This week was AMAZING!!!!

Jesus' family is getting baptized! :) I can't remember if I've informed all of you about them. A week or two before Jesus got baptized, we started teaching his family: his mom Georgia, Sebastian and Monse! Monse has been wanting to get baptized ever since she saw Jesus get in the water (she's 8). Sebastian has been a little more quiet about it, but still accepted. And Georgia has been looking for more faith. She was very religious before and would always read her scriptures but a number of things happened that slowly pulled her away. When Jesus first told her that he was going to get baptized, she was a little hesitant, but as we taught her, everything was fine! Last Monday, once our preparation day was over we went over to visit them and extended the baptismal invitation for May 10th! They accepted and they are so ready for it!

Later through the week, Sister Simonsen went to go visit them (we were on exchanges so I wasn't able to go) and they mentioned that some close friends were not going to be in town for the 10th and so invited her to be baptized the 3rd of May and she said that she was going to pray about it and we will be going over today to set the final date!

So much happened this week and I don't have enough time!!

We had Zone Conference this week which was completely AMAZING! We had President interviews! I love President Clark so much! He's the best!

We also had the best tacos I have EVER had in my whole life!!

Best tacos EVER!

We also went to a funeral on Friday...I am very thankful to have the gospel in my life and to have the knowledge of the Plan of Salvation.

(A/N: Here are some silly photos that she sent to kind of lighten the mood I guess)

I had the funnest time with this sucker!!!

On exchanges with Sister Lewis!! I love her so much!!

This Week! :P‏

(A/N: Hello again! Hope everyone is having a marvelous Monday! :D Here is the update for this week! Enjoy!)

This week was good!

This week was actually filled with a lot of service! On Tuesday, we went over to Salvation Army and helped them hand out food! So that was a lot of fun! On Saturday, the zoo here in Fresno was doing a "Breakfast with the Animals" event where people could just go have breakfast at the zoo. We also volunteered to do that which was great! We didn't really get to see the animals but we got to help out so that was good! We've been really trying to do a lot of service. They are asking us to do 10 hours of service a week. It's going to take a lot of getting used to, but little by little we are getting there.

We were also able to help the Young Womens on Saturday. They have to raise money to go to camp so they've been doing a lot of fundraisers. On Saturday, they had a Zumba night! It was a lot of fun! Obviously we just watched, we did not dance. They asked us to help sell water and fruit! I am so thankful for the Young Women program. That is one thing that truly changed my life. I am also very thankful for all the Young Women leaders that I had. They truly changed my life. We have been doing a lot of service lately, and I know that the Lord has blessed us because of that. We were able to teach more people this week.

Because last week was General Conference, we had testimony meeting this past Sunday. While we were sitting there listening to testimonies, an Hermano got up and started bearing his testimony about Joseph Smith. Throughout the week Sister Simonsen and I were also talking about our favorite Prophets and I came to realize that Joseph Smith probably is one of my favorite prophets. All the trials that he went through just strengthen my testimony of the truthfulness of this gospel. I know that he really truly is a prophet.

People may think that we are crazy for believing a 14 year old, but if you really think about it...why would Heavenly Father call an old man? No offense to older people, but usually older people are more set in their ways...They have had more time for pride to kick in. Children are more humble. They are receptive to the spirit. It doesn't surprise me that Heavenly Father called a 14 year old to restore this Gospel. I know that Joseph Smith truly was called from our Heavenly Father. I know this church is true and I know that The Book of Mormon is true. And I say these things in the name of Jesus Christ Amen.

Conference Weekend!‏

(A/N: Hello everyone! I'm so sorry about this late update! But here it is! I'll be posting the more current update soon!)

So this weekend was great!! I love conference!! I hope you all had the chance to watch conference and listen to the words of the Prophet and Apostles that our Heavenly Father has chosen for us in this time! I am so thankful for all that they have taught us!

Gerald Causse said something that really touched me and reminded me of something that President Gelwix had talked to us about before he left. Gerald Causse taught us that "casual commandment keeping" keeps us from seeing some of the amazing things that the gospel brings to us. I love this term "Casual Commandment Keeping."

President Gelwix was talking about the time when we would have to go home. That he wasn't worried that we would go inactive but that we would go "casual." Casual with reading the scriptures and casually fulfilling our callings. Just being casual with everything.

Being here on a mission, we don't have time to be casual...Casually keeping the mission rules, casually talking to people. There is not enough time to be casual. But I started thinking about life in general. We don't have to be casually keeping the commandments. There is so much that we need to do on this earth. There is so much that our Heavenly Father has planned for us! I truly am grateful for the chance we had to listen to our prophet and apostles. There were so many great talks, I wish that I could talk about them all! But obviously, that is not possible!

I hope that we all take time to really ponder the words that we have been given. I hope we were all able to remember the true meaning of Easter as we listened to conference. I think we can all leave it up to Elder Holland to get us really thinking about the Atonement. I feel so honored to know that Jesus Christ died for me, that he broke the bonds of death so that I could return to live with my Heavenly Father. I know that He truly does love us. Easter is that time that we have to truly remember his Resurrection. I love Him so much and I am so thankful for all that He has done for us.
I love this gospel so much and there is nothing more that I would want for everyone in this world to receive it!

I love you all!

Love,
Hermana Ramos-Escobar
